Hello! Welcome to the last day of this fun Scarf Week!
I’ll jump at the chance to thank Lauren & Vanessa for co-ordinating this week – ladies, it was pleasure to be part of it :)
As a child I used to have a lot of bandanas. And they still exist! Most of them at my parents place but some time ago I took one home with me. It’s the one that I remember most, maybe because there is photographic evidence of it… I think, I’ve definitely loved it as a child, judging on how sun-bleached and worn-out it looks!
I wanted to have that bandana somewhere in my home but it was clear that I was not going to wear it again. So I reused it in a different way.
I’m kind of ashamed to call this a project, because it’s that easy! And probably also not that new. I just took an embroidery hoop, folded the bandana and put it in. And that’s all!! (I haven’t cut the bandana yet, I just couldn’t do it. So if I ever change my opinion it’s no problem to be wearing it again!)
I know, it isn’t really a new invention to put something new in a frame or even an embroidery hoop, but … I still like it :) My bandana hoop hasn’t found a real place yet, but when I move in a few months I plan to make a large gallery wall with all kinds of stuff, not just pics in frames and this one here will be perfect there!

What a great way to keep a special scarf that you may not want to wear and don’t want to part with either!

love this simple and creative way to preserve something special – so much better than stuffed in a drawer or box somewhere out of sight.

I too couldn’t bring myself to actually cut into my scarf! I love what you did with your childhood memento. I love the purple color too. I know I have some of my mom’s and grandmother’s scarves so I think I will do this too. Thanks for the idea!!

What? No pictures of you wearing it as a child lol? This sweet childhood memory will be a fantastic addition to your gallery wall some day! I don’t blame you for not cutting it. :)

I loved all your projects this week! This is a really great option for using a scarf/bandana in a new way, without having to take it apart.

Sometimes the simplest projects are the best! And this is such a great idea of ways to give childhood memorabilia a new lease on life. I actually have some embroidery hoops collecting dust in the basement. And I’d LOVE to put them to good use, using your bandana art as inspiration. Thanks, Elena! What a fantastic project in our Grand Finale of Scarf Week 2015. While I’m sad to see it end, it certainly went out with a bang thanks to you gals. Virtual hug comin’ your way.
